Care.org is a major international humanitarian agency dedicated to saving lives, defeating poverty, and achieving social justice through its international emergency relief and long-term development projects. Its impact is made possible through the collection of donations from individuals, organizations, and private companies offering a helping hand.

When it comes to donating to Care's projects, the process can "feel" transactional and impersonal. Donors are left in the dark when it comes to understanding where their money goes and how it is used. Without any follow up on progress or impact, donors often felt disconnected and were less likely to donate again.

Our challenge was to design a mobile app for Care.org that would provide an innovative way to entice users to stay connected to their cause through consistent engagement and ongoing donations.

The team consisted of three UX design students, including myself.  We worked collaboratively to designed an experience that created a loyal following through ongoing engagement, allowed users to explore and discover new ways to give back, and prioritized accountability and transparency above all.

My role was lead UX designer. I was involved in all stages of the design process and was responsible for the the overall design direction, IA, UI, visual design, and rapid iterative design.
